Yoga in Action 2012 Session!

Take your practice off the mat and create positive change! If you are a yoga student, yoga teacher, or activist of any kind, this program is for you. This 7 session program was created by Off the Mat Into the World, a national non-profit that uses the power of yoga to inspire conscious, sustainable activism and to ignite grassroots social change.

The Birmingham Yoga in Action Group is led by Ambassadors Melissa Scott, Shannon Andrews Skipper, and Jasper Elliott Wolfe. This will be our third group in Birmingham and in order to make it a little easier to fit into our busy schedules we have spaced the sessions 3 weeks apart. We will meet once a month from 12:30pm to 4:30pm @ Villager Yoga in Cahaba Heights. Each workshop will be based on that sessions theme and will include a one hour yoga class, group experiential exercises, meditation, kirtan, journaling, and discussion. This is a very powerful program and it's goal is to help you awaken to your authentic purpose, to develop tools and practices to bring your purpose into action, to cultivate long term community support so that we can live a purposeful life, and make a difference in our families, communities, and world.

You will walk away from this training more grounded in who you are and who you are becoming. You will feel more confident going out into your community and being of service. At the end of the program, we will work together on a group seva project that will support an existing organization in our community.
